Reny Segal

A/Prof. Reny Segal is a South African medical graduate now living and working in Australia.  Having done surgery and intensive care, he finished his Anaesthesia specialisation in New Zealand.  He then went on to Papworth, Cambridge UK to complete his cardio-thoracic anaesthesia fellowship. He is currently a specialist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia and an Associate Professor with Melbourne University.  Clinically he does major cardio-thoracic, trauma, ENT and maxillo-facial work, amongst others.  Reny teaches on a national and international level in the area of airway management having set up a number of successful courses for both registrars and consultants.  He has numerous publications in this area, serves on medical advisory and executive boards and has a large ongoing research involvement.  Reny co-established the Australian and New Zealand Airway Special Interest Group and was it’s past chairman.
